What is Reiki?

Reiki (Ray-kee) is a form of energy work that helps the body relax and mobilize its own healing energy. This noninvasive practice aids in balancing yourself and can decrease stress, anxiety and pain. Originating in Japan, Reiki is now used as a complimentary treatment to Western medicine in hospitals as well as in private practice by certified Reiki practitioners.

What will I experience during a Reiki treatment?

Reiki involves a very gentle touch on key points of the body. Clients remain clothed during a Reiki treatment, which can be performed on a massage table or sitting in a chair. Clients often report feelings of warmth and relaxation during and after Reiki. A Reiki treatment usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes although ten-minute sample treatments can also be useful.

Reiki Training

I have three levels of Reiki training, and I am a certified Reiki Master/Teacher. I have practiced Reiki in a variety of situations, as well as being a volunteer in the Reiki program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. I am also a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP).

I have found the practice of Reiki to be very profound in my life, and I have noticed an increase in clarity, more focus in my day, and more restful and regular sleep.
